Most fights stay stuck because no one circles back. This is how you circle back without losing face.
- 1Wait until you're calm — usually a few hours, sometimes a day.
- 2Reach out first. The braver person goes first; today that's you.
- 3Lead with what you did, not what they did: 'Yesterday I shouldn't have said ____.'
- 4Name what you actually wanted: 'I think I was trying to feel heard.'
- 5Ask them how it landed for them. Listen for at least one minute before replying.
- 6Agree on one small thing for next time. End with something warm.
