Most fights stay stuck because no one circles back. This is how you circle back without losing face.

  1. 1Wait until you're calm — usually a few hours, sometimes a day.
  2. 2Reach out first. The braver person goes first; today that's you.
  3. 3Lead with what you did, not what they did: 'Yesterday I shouldn't have said ____.'
  4. 4Name what you actually wanted: 'I think I was trying to feel heard.'
  5. 5Ask them how it landed for them. Listen for at least one minute before replying.
  6. 6Agree on one small thing for next time. End with something warm.
